Northern Lights
I hope you all saw/are seeing the sky tonight because it is amazing! I was just outside looking at it and it is awesome! It's the Auroras Borealas. It's a result of a solar storm and it's pretty cool.

Never Ending Fever
Today marks the fifth day in a row that I've had a fever. Due to this state I've was unable to attend school today for the second time this week. Luckily for me though, I only had two classes today and they're generally easy classes. Although, I would like to take this time to express my disappointment in the schools ability to complie homework packets for their absent students. In theory, the school is supposed to give your teachers slips to fill out your homework that you parents can pick up so that you don't fall behind in work. Though unfortunately, I didn't recieve a homework packet today or Monday. Not, mind you, because I had no homework. It was quite the contrary actually, I had a report due in bio on Thursday (which I just completed), a math quiz on Thursday (which I'm not ready for), and math homework and Spanish homework as well.
I discovered this homework from calling a bunch of my friends. I had to call three I believe, because none of us are in all the same classes. So it worked out fine for me, but what about kids with no friends? First of all, that would suck. Secondly, you'd be out of luck when it came to collecting homework on the days you innocently missed due to an illness. Then again, I guess most of the time teachers have sympathy for you if you missed school unexpectedly because you were sick.
So, wrapping up, I hope my fever is gone by tomorrow so I can take that math quiz that I'm not prepared for! I think I'll go in first period to study though, not that studying at the last minute ever helps. My theory on studying is you either know it or you don't, and you don't really benefit from last minute cramming. Hopefully though, I do know this well enough that my early morning study session will serve as a reminder of stuff I already know.... I can only hope.

School
I am in school right now during a free period. I just completed some graphs I had to make for bio. Now I'm just waiting for Emma to finish up her graphs and I'm updating my website. I haven't updated in a while because I've been sick. I had a fever on Saturday, Sunday and yesterday. Luckily I never got a stomach ache or anything, but I didn't feel great. Although now, I'm feeling fine. Despite my temporary sickness over the long weekend, I did have fun. The MHS football team did, unfortunately, lose. Although, we did make the first touchdown. The final score was 30-8.
Also, my grandparents came up to visit, so it was very nice to see them. And, my sister came home (she had a long weekend too). So that was also fun. Well, that's all for now!

Windmills
I thought I'd write about something kind of smart tonight. I was just sitting by the fire, listening to my Grandparents and my parents talk about a case my mom's working on. She's working to keep this guy from putting a bunch of windmills up in the North East Kingdom (is North East supposed to be one word? I'm not sure). So far, it sounds as if the case will end in her favor. I hope so, because I'm not crazy about the idea of windmills in Vermont. Because they're very tall, they have lights on them so it'd ruin the night sky, and plus there isn't consistent wind in Vermont anyways so they wouldn't be that reliable. The only four forms of generating power that I can think of are a) windmills, b) coal, c) hydro-electric or d) nuclear. From what I know, I think hydro-electric would make the most sense in Vermont. I think there are disadvantages with that as well, but out of the four, it seems like the best option.... Ok, I'm done with that subject now.
In sports news, my earlier prediction turned out to be true. The MHS football team lost 8-30 to U32. So that's too bad, but oh well. It was pretty chilly standing out there in the cold, I'm glad I wore my winter coat!

Snow
I can't believe it's already beggining to snow. It snowed for a while yesterday, and briefly again today. I'm looking forward to winter though, I'm planning on downhill skiing again. I say that every year, and last year I didn't get out once. But maybe this year will be different.
In other news, I'm currently putting together a new cd of songs I like. It should be pretty good. It's kind of random though, there are lots of different kinds of music on it. Everything from Glenn Miller to Lou Reed. I actually only really know one Lou Reed song to be honest, but it's cool, therefore will be on the cd.
Lastly, tonight is MHS's homecoming, so I'm going to U32 to watch my school lose! (I'm sorry for my lack of faith in our football team, but I'm just trying to make an accurate prediction). Though, maybe they'll prove me wrong and win, ya never know! Well that's all for today, I'm off to find a jacket (my house is cold).

Dad
For those of you interested in knowing what's going on in Antarctica while my Dad is there, be sure to check
this out.
Yay, four day weekend has officially begun. Unfortunately mine had to begin with me getting a bloody nose on my walk home from school today. I had it all the way from city center to my house, and then some more when I got home. Luckily though, now it's gone. That's all for today.

Four Day Weekend
Yay, after tomorrow, I'm going to have a four day weekend! I don't really know why, but I don't really care. So I'm very much looking forward to that. Oh, and an update on the dog: she does have another ear infection, that's all. And the boys varsity won't be going any farther in the play-offs because they lost yesterday unfortunately, against Vergennes (2-1). I thought it was a pretty good game though, maybe next year. Well, that's all for today.

Micque
So my poor dog seems to have another ear infection. She's pretty out of it. My mom guessed she probably won't live to be 15. The cat on the other hand... seems to be in perfect health and she's probably going to live to be a hundred. By the way, if anyone wants a cat, just let me know.

Machiavelli
I had a pretty good weekend. Josh, Kara, Sohpie, Melissa and Alison all visited, so it was a full house. And the babies were very cute. Unfortunately, I had to spend most of today writing a paper about George Bush and whether or not he has Machiavellian qualities (I said he did). I would have done our soccer coach, Aaron, but a lot of people were already writing about him, so I opted for Bush. I think the paper turned out okay.
Also, I've decided I'm going to have to go in student support tomorrow morning (7:30... yuck) to get help with the math homework. I called Kate so that we could figure it out together, but we decided it was hopeless, so instead I spent an hour telling her about what I did this weekend, haha. So that was fun (for me at least, haha). So that's all for today.

Red Sox
That really sucks that the Red Sox lost. When I went to bed they were ahead. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Lyndon
I just noticed that I never posted an entry on our Monday game against Lyndon. Well, we won that one 2-0. (Emma and Leah scored). So that was a very fun game.
Also, I thought this would be a good time to address some of the complaints I've recieved about my site, and my emails for that matter. Some certain people (Cough, Dad, Martha, cough) seem to have a problem with my occasional poor puncuation and spelling. One sibling even went as far as to say she knew her friend wasn't well when her emails started to look like Libby's. So I just thought I'd point out that I can type/spell/puncuate well when I want to, I just never feel like it when it comes to emails. And considering i don't have spell check on this thing, I think I do pretty well. :)

End of the Season
Our soccer season has officially come to a close. The season ended with a 2-0 loss to Harwood, but it was a fun game. I thought the refs were terrible though, and I'm not usually one to blame refs, but these ones were unusually bad. Aside from that, it was a great season. Aaron was an awesome coach, who many people (including myself) are writing a leadership paper on for global.
Speaking of global, I interviewed Mr. Castle today about the Montreal trip for my documentary for creating w/ video. I think this video will actually turn out pretty well. I'm used to the editing program now (I think it's final cut pro, but that might be the other system available that I'm not using, haha).

Funny Article
I thought
this was pretty hilarious. My favorite paragraph is the last one, so I'd suggest you go read it.
Also, Good job to the jv-a girls soccer team! We had a great game today against Lyndon, we won 2-0. Emma and Leah scored. Tomorrow's our last game and it's going to be against Harwood. They're pretty good, so hopefully all our practicing will pay off.

Montreal
Our trip to Montreal yesterday was pretty fun. We had to leave the school at 6:30 though. Once we got there, I was assigned as leader of our little group, which didn't involve much. I only had to know our group and make sure we were all there at every check-in. So we visited St. Joseph Oratory, Italian Market, "Le Fauberge" (mall type thing), Montreal trust, Old Town Montreal, Notre Dame Cathedral, Chinatown and Montreal Trust Mall.
I would have to say that my favorite stop was at the Notre Dame Cathedral because the inside of it was pretty amazing. Overall it was a fun day. And today I have a soccer game against St. Johnsbury, so that should be fun.

Apple Music Store
Emmett (FitzGerald) had been nagging me for a while to download Apple Music Store (I wanted to, I just kept forgetting), but I finally did. I'm very glad that I did too, because it's my new favorite thing. I guess it wouldn't be my very favorite thing if I were the one paying $.99 per song, but I'm not, so it's fun. It's kind of like my cell phone, I'm the only one who uses it, but I don't pay for it. I can only pull that off for a few more years though I guess, so I suppose I should make the most of it! Haha, just kidding. Well, that's really all for now. I may update when I get home from Montreal tomorrow, but I'm not promising anything.

Randolph
We played Randolph today in soccer and won 1-0. It was pretty awesome because it had been 0-0 the entire game, but then in the last 10 or so minutes, Pepe scored. So we're all very excited. Our record is 4 wins, 3 losses and 2 ties. Then we have one game that we played half of and was stopped for lighting, but we're finishing it this Saturday at St. J.
It's gonna be an early night for me tonight, cause I have to be at school at 6:15 to go to Montreal. It will be really fun though, so I'm looking forward to it. Well, that's all for today.

Recall
I would also like to comment on the recall election policy. Apparently, the Californian government was pretty corrupt at the end of the 19th century, so they developed the recall election thing to give the people more power. Although now, it doesn't seem to be doing much good (in my opinion). I don't know exactly what the percent is of people that you need to prompt a recall election, but I know that it's something absurdly low. So, those are my thoughts on the recent events so far.

Arnold
I learned today that Arnold Schwarzenegger won in the election for California governor. Neither of my parents were suprised by this and I suppose if I followed the news more closely, I wouldn't be either. But I don't follow the news very well, so I am surprised, and disappointed. I don't know that I would be so quick for vote for Schwarzenegger even if I were a republican. From what I know about him (which, I'll point out, isn't very much), he hasn't had any/much political experience/knowlage. He might know some things seeing that he's married to a Kennedy. But basically it seems like the Republican party was just looking for someone who could win in a short period of time. And who, probably, will be pretty pliable to them due to his lack of experience. So good luck California.

Fred Tuttle
I'm a day late reporting this, but Fred Tuttle died, which is very sad.
Josh does a better job reporting on it than me though, so I'll leave that up to him.
I'm also very excited because on Friday, I'm going to Montreal. We're going with half the tenth grade global classes and it should be fun. I'm going to be documenting it on my video camera for my video class. So it works out well, learning for global and filming for video class - killing two birds with one stone (that is how the saying goes, right?).
Lastly, I just thought I'd share this thought. I'm thinking that if I find a way to put pictures on my website, that would be awesome. That way, my site wouldn't depend so much on my entries, but on the pictures. So I'll work on that.

People's
We played People's Academy today in soccer and won 1-0. I thought we played very well, it was our best game as far as passing went. So it was fun.
Also, I decided officially today that I am going to do track in the spring. I've been thinking about it for a while and decided that I want to do it. Though, I'm not sure what event I would do, but I guess we'll see.
Lastly, still on the stubject of sports, that's pretty cool that the Red Sox won. I've never been able to decide who I like better, Red Sox or Yankee's. Half my family/friends like the Red Sox and the other half like the Yankee's, so I'm very torn. Then again I don't like baseball that much anyways, so it doesn't really matter. So that's all for today!

Rent!
I just returned home from seeing "Rent," tonight. It was the best play I've ever seen! I've been listening to the soundtrack all summer, but I finally saw the play tonight with Kate and Trina. So if you ever get a chance to go see
Rent, do it, because it's incredibly awesome.

Trash
Today at school, earth group (a club that does stuff with the enviroment) did a 'trash on the lawn' day. They collected all the trash from yesterday and organized it into the following catagories: should have been recycled/composted, not recyclable at MHS and some other catagories. The point was too show people how much they waste. So it was pretty cool.
Now, I must backtrack and report on my soccer game from two days ago. We played St. J at home. It was a very slow and lazy game, but it did pick up when Kate scored the first goal. The goal was scored because Kate was on the far post of the goal, which is what Kendra (our goalie) always suggests, and this time we actually listened to her. Someone kicked the ball over to Kate, and she hit it right over the goalies head. It was pretty cool. Unfortunately, it started to lightning, so we had to stop. We play them again on Saturday though, so we'll finish our first game then.
After that lazy half of a game, we've beenn working a lot harder in practice (a.k.a-the past two days). Today we were expecting that Aaron (our coach) would make us run for a billion years, but he pleasantly surprised us by making us do a fun conditioning thing. We had a lot of different stations that included sprints, juggling, sit-ups, etc. and we just did once station after another. So it was very fun. Well, that's all for now.
