I realize I haven't been updating my site too regularly and I was going to update it tonight beacuse I have lots to report on (my weekend visiting family, our game today, my second trip to the periodontist, etc). But, I decided I don't feel like updating today, so I'll do it tomorrow. Why do today, what you can do tomorrow? Haha, that only goes for my website of course. So don't be too disappointed, I know you really want to hear about all my news, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Cider

I just finished reading Josh's most recent entry and, being the narsisstic person that I am was very excited to see that it was about me, despite it's many insults throughout. Imagine, Josh calling me narsisstic... It's not like every single one of my website entries is about me or anything (I hope you can tell that's sarcastic). Oh well.

Now, I'm sure you'll all curious, or at least somewhat interested in hearing why my entry is titled the way it is. Well, it's because for the past few days I've have to drink cider that was made in New York. Whoever did the shopping that day made a very simple mistake of picking up this New York cider as opposed to Cold Hollow Cider (which is the way to go) and I can taste the difference, honestly. So I just wanted to share this experience and hope the same doesn't happen to you.

Periodontist

I just had an appointment with the periodontist. Who, if you don't know, is a gum docter. (Gum as in the gums in your mouth.) Anyways, I had to go in the get part of my gum fixed. Last year, I was brushing my teeth way to hard and caused my lower front gum to receede a signifigant amount. Signifigant enough, unfortunately, that it needed to be fixed.

So today I went in to get my gum grafted. The took a tiny section from the roof of my mouth and put it on the gum that had receeded. So it was all cool until they had to put the dressing on the stitches. The dressing looks just like bubble-gum and covers my four front lower teeth entirely. So my solution to this problem is to not open my mouth all week at school. If I'm called on by a teacher, I'll just not open my mouth very wide.

Also, I'm not supposed to eat hot or hard/crunchy type foods for a while. This is particularly annoying beacuse the moment I found out about that, I started craving like HOT chocolate, or a toasted bagel and basically everything I can't have.

So this whole experience serves as a lesson; brush your teeth carefully.

My Song

I thought I'd let you all know that I did finally find a song for my video. I'm going to use "Sea of Joy" by Blind Faith. So I'm very excited. Also, our game yesterday was postponed, so I obviously can't give you any results from that. And, Martha's home visiting from Bennington and she is definetly loving it. So that's cool. Well, that's all for today.

Song

I'm making a video for my creating with video class and it's supposed to be about me. So I'm all set with the footage and stuff, but I need a song to play in the background. If anyone has any suggestions at all for just a song that would be terrific.

Also, today a bunch of people (students) did a river clean-up during school. I think they cleaned a lot of it too. Good job to Kate, Abra and Ruthie who, I've been informed, moved a huge boulder!

Lastly, I'd like to say goodluck to my soccer team and the varsity in tomorrow's game against Harwood!

Spaulding

We just played Spaulding in soccer and tied! The score was 0-0 in overtime, so I thought it was a good game. Spaulding is a division 1 team and we're division 2, so I thought it went pretty well. Also, we seemed to get better as the game went on. In a half hour varsity plays and hopefully they'll win!

So I guess a lot has been going on this week in the news (or so it seems) with the deaths of John Ritter and Jonny Cash, the anniversary of Sept. 11th, and all the typical Bush news. I suppose there are a lot of interesting things in the news every week, just not all stories come to my attention. I should read the news more often so I know what's going on, but I get bored with some of the stories. Teachers and parents (mine at least) are always trying to get kids to pay attention to the news. Teachers do it with giving assignments, Mr. Chater for example had his students track 15 minutes of news a couple nights last week. Maybe I'll eventually pick up the habit of reading the news in the newspaper other than just the comics.

This week at least, I haven't had much time to read news. As I said in my last entry, I've been busying both attending and playing in soccer games, going to practice, doing homework and hanging out with my friends. The reason I've had so much time to hang out on weeknights is because the homework load is feeling strangely reasonable. I don't want to jinx anything, but the homework is very predictable and acceptable this year so far (which is a very good thing.) I know some teachers feel the need to give their students really complicated homework that forces them to search around in their books for information that probably isn't even there. This year on the other hand, our teachers are giving us assignments that require finding information that is actually where we expect it to be. So that's very good.

Well today, I have to go get some new tap shoes and then play in a soccer game against Spaulding. They're pretty good so it's going to be a hard game, but we'll see how it turns out. So that's all for today.

Entries

More entries will be coming soon, I'm not abandoning my dear website if that's what you thought. I've been very busy this week with school, practice, homework, attending soccer games, and our team dinner tonight. My new exciting news is that I got a cell phone! Yay! For those of you who think I probably don't need one, I have a few reasons for you why I do:

1) It makes me easier to contact.

2) Gives me a way to call parents for a ride home from practices, etc.

3) It lets me go wherever I want without having to constantly be in search of a phone (because some parents, specifically mine, like to know where I am at every second of the day).

So that's why I need a cell phone. You can expect entries with a little more substance later this week, I don't have much time right now.

Driving

Well, I went driving for the first time today and it was really fun. I went in the CRV, which I have heard (from friends who are also learning how to drive) that it's trickier to drive. I thought it was fine though, just because I didn't have anything to compare it to. My turning skills weren't great to begin, but I got the hang of it. I'm also getting the hang of starting the car. I think most people stall out because they let the clutch out too fast, but that's certainly not my problem. I take about an hour to move the clutch one inch. But it was a lot of fun, and now I just need to find the sheet that I log my hours on. Although, I'm guessing it's long gone by now, so I'll have to get another one.

Cold

This cold that I have it really really annoying. It's making the transition right now from the keeping-you-up-all-night-coughing stage to the runny/stuffy nose stage. But luckily I have the whole weekend to recover.

Yet despite being mildly sick, I had a soccer game last night which was pretty fun. It was against Burlington and we lost 1-0. But my team did an awesome job and we had a lot of shots. So it was fun and hopefully we'll win the next one.

First Game

As you can tell from the title of this, we had our first soccer game today against Vergennes. The jv A team (my team) lost 0-2, but I thought it was a good game. The varsity game was stopped half way through due to lightning, so I'm not sure what happened with that game.

Also, tonight is Martha's last night home before leaving for Bennington. Although apparently she'd rather hang out with Adam than her poor neglected family, how sad... Then again, if she had decided to stay home with her family I guess I wouldn't have hung out with her much anyways because I'm distracted by the computer. So it all works out.

Lastly, my newest and most exciting piece of news by far is that I have a car! Which is funny because I don't even have my liscence yet, but I plan to learn on this car. So, I bet you're wondering how I attained a car. Well, it's not because my parents spoiled me even more, and it's not because I've been saving, it's because Melissa, my fantastic sister gave it to me! So thank you Melissa! My next task is learning how to drive it.
