Tomorrow, I'll be heading off to Greece! Although, I might update my website while I'm there. Now, I must finish packing.

Bronx Zoo

Yesterday, I visited the Bronx Zoo with my mom and grandparents. It was a lot of fun and I saw a bunch of neat animals (and I got an awesome shirt that says "Bronx Zoo" on it). So that was neat.

Goal for tomorrow: pack for Greece

Connecticut

I'm leaving pretty soon for Connecticut to visit my grandparents. That should be fun. I actually enjoy car rides (when I get the front seat and am able to play the music I like) so I'm looking forward to it.

I also just received my soccer preseason training letter. Turns out preseason starts the day after I get back from Greece... Fun. And we should be able to run two miles in 14 to 15 minutes, so I'll have to work on that while I'm in Greece. Well, it gives me something to do other than go to the beach. (Not that I particularly wanted to do anything else, haha, oh well.)

Goal for tomorrow: go on a run with Mom

Costa Rica Details

I've returned with more details of my sojourn to Costa Rica. I left off in my last entry at our departure from Monteverde - a popular tourist spot. From there, we travelled on the bumpy roads to the hot springs. I can't remember the name of the town they were in. The hot springs were awesome, though ironically (and Josh I think this is a proper use of the word "ironic") my favorite pool was the cold pool.

We only stayed there for one night, and then ventured off to Jaco (or right outside of Jaco). At this location we got lessons about sea turtles from a marine biologist (and I have five pages of notes from it). We also took Latin dance lessons and attempted to take Spanish lessons, but that didn't exactly pan out.

We saw only two turtles while we were there, but learned a lot about other aspects of Costa Rican nature. We took night walks along the beach in search of turtles which was very interesting. We couldn't use flashlights because it confuses the turtles so it was pitch black. In order to get to the beach we had to trek down a really muddy road. We bought some rubber boots to protect from mud and potential snake bites. They majorly rubbed my legs which was irritating, but it was fun anyways.

On one of our last days there, we stopped at the Manuel Antonio National Park which was awesome. I can attribute most of my tan to our day there. So overall the trip was a complete success. I liked all the people on the trip and got some gifts (mostly for myself, haha, but also for family). As soon as I get pictures and figure out how to put them on my page, I'll do so.

Goal for tomorrow: pack for Connecticut

BACK!

As you can see from my title, I am indeed back from Costa Rica. Obviously I have a lot to update on. The trip turned out a little differently than I expected. I had anticipated it to be mainly focused on turtles (Olive Ridley Sea Turtles), but it turned out to be more focused on overall Costa Rican nature.

We arrived in (or, right outside of) San Jose and stayed overnight in a nice little hotel. The next morning we took a long drive to Monteverde. The roads were insanely bumpy and there were pot holes about every two feet. Also, I swear the bus drivers there would rather drive off a cliff than through a pot hole. We arrived in Monteverde (it's very high up on a mountain.) and stayed for four nights. While there, we went to the cloud forest, did a zipline through the forest, took a horseback ride to a waterfall and did a night tour of the forest. We also visited a butterfly place (where we got to release some butterflies ourselves) and a serpentarium (where Molly held a tarantula-sorry for my bad spelling). So that was all very neat. And that's all for now. I'll update more about the trip at a later date.

I'll also try to figure out how to put pictures on my site.

Tomorrow

I'm leaving for Costa Rica tomorrow! I'm not sure if I'll be updating my site while I'm there, but if I don't, I'll make sure to take careful note of the trip while I'm there so that I can write all about it.

On another note, I got my permit today. I only got one question wrong, yay! The eye test on the other hand.... I managed to miss an entire column of numbers somehow, but I passed. My picture also came out pretty well, so I'm very pleased.

Goal for the next two weeks: be in Costa Rica (hmm, I think I'll be able to manage that)

Two Reasons to be Excited

As you can see from my title, I can think of two very good reason to be excited (for me). First of all, tomorrow I'm going to take the permit test and I'm feeling very confident at the moment that I will pass. I've taken the practice tests online about a trillion times and I've gotten 100's on most of them. The second reason to be excited is because the Costa Rica trip is on Wednesday! Yay. so that will be a lot of fun.

Goal for tomorrow: pass permit test and finish packing

4th of July

Happy 4th of July! The fireworks and parade yesterday were pretty fun. But today was even better, because I saw Legally Blonde 2. I definetly loved it and it was as good as the first. Definetly my kind of movie.

Title

I just read Josh's website, and he has apparently gotten rid of the titles. I, however, obviously still have the titles. I have them for two reasons: a) I don't know how to get rid of them and b) I kind of like having titles. Although, they are kind of a pain. I spend more time thinking of a title than I do actually typing the entry.

Yesterday, Kate and I made excellent progess towards getting our permits. We studied for a while at the State House and walked into the DMV. Immediatly upon arriving there, we deemed it to busy and crowded to bother scheduling appointments. So, I'll have to call at some point.

Tonight I plan on watching a fourth of July parade, even though it's July third. So that should be fun. My only plan so far for the fourth of July is to go see Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde. Mmm, fun fun.

Movie

Legally Blonde 2 is coming out tomorrow! I can't wait. I don't think the Capitol will get it until Thursday... or, I know that's at least when they change the movies, but it might come later.. Anyways, I'm very excited about seeing it.

The Costa Rica trip is also happening pretty soon, which is exciting. So I'm definetly looking forward to that.

I've been pretty bored without anything to do though. It's nice to have free time, but I need to find something to do!

Goal for tomorrow: look over Costa Rica list to see what I have/need
