Dumb Books

I was just proof-reading my last entry (I probably missed any errors, I mainly just look for the huge ones, and did not find any), and I realized that one might be justified in relating my site to a diary type novel. Because it documents some of the site worthy events that occur day to day. This mainly occurred to me because today my friends and I were discussing the classic teen girl books and how similar they all seem. Example:

Chapter One: Nice, innocent girl moves to new town. Is immediatly unpopular.

Chapter Two: Gang of mean, popular girls team up against her, new girl feels alone.

Chapter Three: New girl takes up a sport, lets say surfing. Dedicates all her time to it.

Chapter Four: Attractive, popular boy relates to new girl and respects her new love for surfing.

Chapter Five: New girl wins some surfing contest, mean girls are jealous.

Chapter Six: New girl and Mean girls have a big showdown, the mean girls meanness is revealed, and are no longer popular.

Chapter Seven: New girl is still nice, not so innocent, and a very good surfer. The end.

Anyways, I am glad to report that I find little to no similarities between my site and these classic teen novels, other than the fact that it is a constant update in the life of the main character (in this case me, because it's my site). But that's why mine is in the form of a website, because it's the continuing saga of Libby. But if I ever do move, battle some mean girls and take up surfing, then maybe I'll write a book, until then, a website will have to suffice. Posted by lib at May 13, 2004 08:32 PM
