Dummies in the White House
I was extremely disappointed and offended this afternoon when I listened to a report on NPR saying that some republicans in the white house want to limit the kinds of jobs women can have in the military. Personally I never intend to join the army, but I think just the principle of keeping women out of those jobs (the ones they consider most dangerous) is very insulting. It sounds like it won't get passed, but if it did it would definitely be a step back for the progress women have made concerning their roles in this country.
Also, in relation to her AP US final project (on the Bush family, which should contrast nicely with Kate's project on the Kennedy men) Julie gave me this link which she assures me is amusing (it's our president in an interview, how could it not be funny?).

BLOOD
Hooray for me and Tyler and everyone else who gave blood today at school! (There was a blood drive put on by the Red Cross). Oh and good job to everyone (including myself, haha) who was in the dance performance this weekend, it was wonderful!

Grilling At School
When you read the title, I'm sure you assumed it was some lame school sponsered cook out, but no! Randomly, Jon and Tyler decided to bring in a small little grill to school and grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs outside. So random, but it was fun. Seems like a very Vermont thing to do. Anyhoo, I'd also like to share another car lesson I've finally decided to acknowledge: the rain will clean the outside of the car, but it won't clean the inside. Not that I expected it to, just that I must stop neglecting the cleanliness of my car. So really, I'm going to set aside some to clean soon...

Prom
Well prom was a success! I'm assuming someone will have pictures that I can link to sometime in the near future. We also had our tap rehersal yesterday which went well. Other than that, there's not a whole lot to report.

Day Before Prom
I used this title to prevent minutes of wasted time trying to come up with a different title for tomorrow (the day of prom). So yes, as the title would suggest, prom is tomorrow. So the prom committee (which I'm on) spent some time today setting up and it looks surprisingly nice! I was pretty much expecting it to look very cheesy and tacky, but obviously I didn't have enough faith in the committee, cause it looks nice! I'll be sure to let you know on Sunday how it went, because I know you're all just on the edges of your seats waiting to hear about it!

May Activities
Well with the completion of the AP US test and the SAT's (which we sooo long and boring, but overall not too bad), it's time to begin on some of the more fun May activities. We had an extra tap class today to perfect our dance (there are only two weeks until the performance). And next week is prom (which means many decoration things to sort out). Also, I just thought
this picture of Sophie looked a lot like Josh (which is not surprising of course, considering that he is her Dad).

One Down, One to Go
AP US has been completed, so now I just have to take the SAT's tomorrow morning then I'll be done (until June that is). The AP test was not nearly as hard as I was expecting it to be, however I may not, at any point in my life, ever, discuss the multiple choice questions with anyone. But overall, I think it went pretty well.

AP US
AP US test tomorrow!! Ahh! We've been studying very hard for the past two weeks (well basically all year actually), and tomorrow we'll spend like five million years actually taking the test. I just can't wait! The next day we have SAT's, which I'm equally excited about. Oh, I should clarify, I'm excited for the tests to be
over. Anyhoo, wish me (and the rest of my class) luck!

Thinking Lib
After much discussion both in classes (mainly Spanish) and with friends, I've decided that kids today are lame and getting lamer. It's against the rules to play dodgeball in a a lot of schools cause it's too scary and competetive. But, what may come as a surprise to many of these dodgeball deprived children is that a lot of life is scary and competetive, so learn to deal with it. Sheesh. I understand not wanting your kids to be disappointed and fail at things, but that's just as much a part of learning as succeeding is. Anyhoo...
If you've been wondering at my lack of updates, it's because I've been very busy studying and doing homework (I have an AP US test on Friday and the SAT's on Saturday, yay!). Last week was pretty stressful, but this week has actually been pretty good so far, I've been getting ahead on my work and dedicating a lot of time to it, which has been fabulous. Well, that's all for now!
