Then Again....
Libby is retracting her many unofficial statements that Dasani water sucks. While 99% of the time, it does suck... there is that 1% when it is exactly what you need. You see, the majority of my experiences with Dasani water, up until today, could be described with words or phrases like: "chemical-ly," "it makes a fizz sound when you open it," "it's made by a soda company," "it's creepily thick.. for water," "it's always warm no matter what," "it isn't refreshing," and on and on. However, after grabbing a Dasani water at one of my catered RA lunches (in lieu of other, more disgusting, drinks), I threw it in my freakishly cold fridge upon arriving back at my room. Later that night, I consumed a Special K bar (soo good and fake healthy). The sugar burned my throat and I realized about five bites too late that I was actually thirsty, not so much hungry. I saw my normally tempting Vitamin Waters, but decided I needed a break from the dagger-like sugar crystals. So, I grabbed the Dasani. To my pleasant surprise, it was amazing. Freezing cold and exactly like the trickling moutain streams you see in the commercials for water. Mmmm... So, okay Dasani, you aren't so bad after all.
In other news, I'm still at RA training. I would make a few sarcastic jokes about it, but I will refrain in order to make myself look a little better in the event that someone decides to do some detective work (Top secret file: what does Libby really think about being an RA?). I've actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Once ResLife got past their dellusion that they could make this a Harry Potter themed training, they actually have provided us with some interesting information. We've attended sessions on social justice issues relating to race, gender (including both feminist and transgender topics), disability, violence and some others. This week, we started getting into the more specific aspects of the jobs, such as: policies, what to do in case of emergency, mock situations, and recording of "incidents."
So that is all for now, I realized that it's late and I'm tired. More to come later!
