The Tragedy of the Shoes

So I must tell you about the extreme bad luck I've had with a certain pair of shoes. So I saw this pair of shoes about a week ago or so, here on Paros, that I absolutely loved. Usually, I don't care too much about shoes, but I just loved these. Then I looked at the price and it said 95 Euros, so I was like "forget it." However, I noticed later that the price had been reduced to 25 Euros, so I thought I was pretty lucky. I went in to try them on, and it turns out they only had one pair left and they were a size 36, which is wwaayy too small for me. So I was just recovering from that extreme disappointment when Alice managed to find the exact same pair online! And, the last size they had left was my size. So I thought "okay, I'd better get them soon." I went back a few hours later with my dad and his credit card... The only color left was a nasty orange color, my shoes had been bought. So I've finally given up, but I just had to share my awful experience with everyone.

On the other hand, Greece continues to be wonderful. Alice, my parents and I took a 20 minute boat ride yesterday over to Antiparos (a nearby island) to check out some caves up in the moutains. I had already been, but they were still just as cool. Then we swam at a beach and came home. Also, Emmett arrived last night which was wonderful. Tonight I think Alice and I are going to go see a movie (we don't know what's playing, but it's just fun to go). Then for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday my parents are renting a car so we can go to some farther away beaches. Then that brings us pretty close to the end of my trip! Then it's school!

I'm half looking forward to school. I always like school because you see everyone, you get to go to games, and this year we get to decide what to do with the next four years of our life. However, I'm still not looking forward the homework aspect, as you might have guessed. But considering that after being gone for a little over a month feels like a week, I'm pretty confident that this year will go by super fast, which is a good and bad thing. Anyways, that's all for now, I'm off to the beach! Posted by lib at August 21, 2005 06:08 AM
