In Paros

Eight days ago, I set off with my mother on our journey to Paros, Greece. After a quick drive to Burlington, and a speedy flight to New York, we ran into our first obstacle. Our plane that was to take us from New York to Paris was delayed about an hour. (Of course I was absorbed in Harry Potter at the time, so I didn't really do much to join my mother's worrying). Anyways, we finally did leave for Paris. The flight was about six hours, but thanks to Harry Potter and my cd player, it wasn't too bad. However, things took a turn for the annoying when we arrived in Paris.

We had missed our connecting flight to Athens, which was what my mother had been worrying about. So, we stood in line for literally an hour and a half or so with other people in simliar situations. When we got to the counter (we were some of the last people in line, and there were only like three people working the counters) it took another 45 minutes to get things sorted out. At first they said they would fly us to Budapest (yeah right) and then we'd fly from there to Athens and arrive at 3 in the morning. So my mother broke out her "don't mess with me, I'm a lawyer" voice and we ended up staying in a hotel in Paris for the night and setting off for Athens the next morning.

From there, things went smoothly. We met up with Myrto, Loukas, Zoe and Effie at the boat and then went to Paros. So I've been here for a week now, and it will be another week before my dad, Martha, Chris and Alice arrive. So it's been wonderful being here, the beach is lovely, the food is delicious, the company is fabulous. Although I have to say, it sounds like people saved all the fun stuff until I left. I've gotten emails from people about going to different people's camps, or going to Red Sox games, or seeing Sandra Bullock and this and that. When I was home all we did was go to VINS. Oh but don't worry, I'm hardly complaining. The only person it would be fair to be jealous of is Emmett who is off exploring Africa. But I already told my dad he's taking me there next year, haha, we'll see how that goes. But for now, I'm headed to the beach! I shall update again as soon as I can ( I mean techincally I could do it every day, but I only like to spend so much time in the internet cafe). Oh and one more thing, Myrto was telling me that if you went to Parosweb.com (sorry I don't feel like making it into a link for you) then you could see from a camera the very seat I'm sitting at to write this to you! Assuming I'm there when you look, otherwise you'll just see some random person.

So it's 12:52 here, and 5:52 at home. So grown ups I suppose you'll be getting up in an hour or so for work, and my dear friends, I'm sure you won't be up for hours. I hope every has a nice day! Bye! Posted by lib at August 5, 2005 06:00 AM
