I Didn't Forget About My Site, Really
Oh dear, I've been terribly neglectful of my site lately. Oops. Well plenty has happened since my brothers birthday, like the fourth of July for instance! Ah yes, very fun. Let's see, I suppose most of my readers are aware of what I've been up to; swimming, eating ice cream (mostly because Julie works at the Ben and Jerry's factory), a little volunteering at VINS, visiting with family, welcoming Kate home from D.C., bidding Emmett farewell as he heads off to Africa (he's going where my dear old dad went when he was in high school), and of course getting my morning fill of Dawson's Creek (even though I think I saw every episode last summer). Okay, so that about covers it. Now that I've covered the basics, I feel much more prepared to write a more interesting entry sometime in the next few days. Although it is unfortunate that my site has been a little slow lately, that's probably a good sign that I'm not wasting my summer staring at a screen (well yes, aside from Dawson's Creek. That's time well spent, trust me). Oh my! I almost forgot my most important summer activity, I've been dusting my house!
Dusting sounds pretty boring, but believe you me, I could talk about it for a while! Most people associate dusting with a little feather duster, but nope! That's not how we do it at the Ripley/Daghlian house! My dusting is very thorough, I use a product called, well I can't remember what it's called but it's in an orange spray can and it's meant for dusting and I have to clean basically every flat, horizontal surface in the house. It takes a while. Of course once you're in the cleaning mode you usually end up noticing a bunch of dishes that aren't done and then a bed that isn't made (I only make mine of course, I'm not that into cleaning) and all sorts of other stuff. Not that I'm trying to take repsonsibility for the cleanliness of my house. Actually, at least 34% of my motivation, no, 27% of my motivation for cleaning (especially in the kitchen) comes from trying to make my dear sister look bad. So that when I bother her for not cleaning up she can't turn it around on me. Anyways, this entry has strayed far from a quick update. So be sure to check back for a more substantial entry!
