Democratic National Convention

I was just watching the democratic national convention, but am now happily watching "The Daily Show," my favorite source for news. Anyhow, most of the speeches (that I've seen) this week have been pretty good. And I tell you what, when my parents head to the polls, I'll be telling them "send John Kerry," because I know that with Kerry, help is on the way. And don't forget John Edwards! I'm sure that with him in office, hope is on the way. (I really hope you've been watching the convention, otherwise this entry will sound a bit ridiculous.) So those are my thoughts on this election, but I think in the election of 2012 (assuming Kerry is in office for the next two terms), I'll be saying send Barak Obama!

So enough of that. I thought I'd mention (because he suggested I do so and because I'm such a fabulous daughter) that my dad is (in his own words) "a really great guy!" You see where I get my modesty. Then again, he does deserve some credit here, because he just observed something interesting in a commercial that most other people probably would have missed. There was a commercial with a snake that they were claiming was highly poisonous and he pointed out that the real poisonous snake would have "blablabla colored stripes," and that was in fact "a blablabla snake." Obviously I was paying close attention.

So in my closing comments tonight, I'll just stress to you again that you really ought to watch "The Daily Show." Now I'm off to bed, for I really must get my sleep in preparation for another fabulous day in the life of Lib. A day which you folks will probably not get the pleasure of hearing about, for I'm headed to Groton for the night. Posted by lib at July 29, 2004 11:34 PM
