Studying
Recently, I got a math quiz back that I hadn't done so well on. I got a lot of the answers right, but made a lot of careless mistakes like not doing parenthesis or writing "y=". (Luckily, an extra-credit opportunity has arisen and I am taking advantage of that, cause I really need to). Anyways, so when I heard there was going to be a bio quiz, I didn't want to see another unsatisfying grade so I decided to actually study well. I usually do fine on the bio quizzes, although often leaving a
little room for improvement. Although this time, thanks in large part to Kate and her wonderful quizzing, I had no room left for improvement, so I was very pleased. And no, I wasn't writing this entry to brag (haha, because I'm so modest), I was writing it mainly to inform you of the lesson I recently learned (which I'm sure you all know, being the intelligent group you are) that reading over your notes once and hoping you know it isn't really studying. (I'm not totally positive if I'm coming off as a terrible student or as really conceited with my bio grade. Then again, it doesn't really matter because you all know me, unless you're some random weirdo who just so happened to stumble upon this wonderful site, in which case I'll let you make up your own mind on what kind of student I am. Incase that run-on sentence wasn't enough of an indication.)
Update:Ok, fine so that wasn't a run-on sentence (as pointed out by Martha, see comment below), but I'm sure there was something wrong with it. If not, there goes my point.
Phew, so I'm done that long rant. Now to my other business, before I am forced the leave the computer and head to bed. Good job to the boys basketball team for winning tonight! Alright, well I am off to bed so that I may have some chance of getting up on time for school.

that wasn't a run-on sentence. maybe you should study grammar with your newfound study skills
I think your note did not come off as bragging about your grade, but rather a perceptive expose on why preparation does produce a better result. There's always the chance that you will learn something new or see something in a light you hadn't before. So I think you are exactly right.
