The Sarcastic Voice was initially developed sometime in fifth or sixth grade before we were capable of making any actual sarcastic jokes. You may recognize this voice in such acts as "Irish Jig" or anytime we make a totally out-there comment. So anyways, this voice has been in use ever since then, although in the past few years it's taken on a few variations.
This new voice, the That's Funny Cause You're Going to Die tonight voice is the second of the new phase of voices. At least the second to be recognized as new and named. The other voice is one that doesn't really have a name, but I suppose it could be referred to as "The Voice That Kate Hates." Although that voice may be put into retirement due to reasons that are made clear in the title.
So all these voices have their own weird little accents that while subtle, are noticable when put into normal speech. And this is really starting to take a toll on the way I talk. The combination of speaking in these voices way too often, slurring my words when I get excited (which I often am), and my slight Vermont accent (causing me to drop letters - most commonly t's, but also others) has started to make me talk kind of funny. It doesn't sound funny to my friends really, but people who are actually trying to understand what I'm saying sometimes have a hard time. Now, I'm not saying I'm totally impossible to understand, because that woudl be a huge overstatement (then again, Dad may disagree, he often complains that I'm very difficult to understand). It's just when I'm telling some really long story and laughing. But at least trying to figure out what I'm saying gives people something else to do than listen to my stories - which I happen to love, but I can see why they may be uninteresting to other people.
That's one of the only downsides to this being a webpage. It's better if I actually have something to say. Because as fun as it may be for me to sit down and write this, it's a whole other story when you try to sit down and read it.
Oh and just some updates: I realize that I have been saying for a while that I'm putting pictures on here soon and I have not yet done so. Although, I plan to do so very soon. So don't give up faith completely, there will at some point be pictures. Also, since Josh will be up this weekend he may be able to help me fool around with the format of this page which could be interesting. I hope you enjoyed this entry that was about a million paragraphs longer than it needed to be!
