Feliz Día de Valentín

Happy (late) Valentine's day! I actually had one of the most eventful Valentine's Days ever.

I kicked off my excellent day at 7:45 at the High School! The ski team was gearing up and heading off to Ethan Allen Firing Range in Jericho for States. We also had states on Wednesday for classical, but I didn't go to that one. I had originally been dreading this meet because I was disapopinted to hear that they had a jv meet. But, once I got there I actually started looking forward to the race. The jv course was 2.5K and actually really nice. There was one long, gradual hill in the middle which completely exhausted me. But I made a good effort to keep going hard because I wanted to do well in the last meet of the season. So once I got past that I got my energy back a little and then I was basically at the end. I tried to V2 at the end for a second (it's a type of poling that makes you go faster on flat spots) but I didn't get it together in time so I just did V2 alternate really hard to the end. Alice though, did V2 very hard right to the end (I didn't see the finish, but heard about it) so that was a great end to her season. We left before we could get the results though, so I unfortunately cannot update you on those.

Then I got ready for the dance and went to that with a bunch of people and it was actually very fun. And everyone looked terrific! So I had an excellent beggining to this week long vacation! Posted by lib at February 15, 2004 01:39 PM
