The recent
tsunami in the Indian Ocean is truly terrible. If you thought that living in Boston, or New York, or anywhere on the eastern coast of North America made you safe from this particular form of death, think again. According to
this article, you are all doomed. It seems the Canary Islands are aiming a huge wave right at us. Only the time of release is uncertain. "The western flank of Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma in the Canaries is going to slide into the Atlantic one of these days...," it says. I sure hope the article is pure hyperbole, because the consequences of this land slide will be too horrifying to contemplate, especially if your children, their spouses and your grandchildren are all living in the death zone. One more excellent reason to move to Vermont.
